Sports, the athletes’ hard work, and the natural beauty of southern Lanzarote came together for an unforgettable weekend. On June 27 and 28, Paseo LASAL became the regional hub of fitness with the successful hosting of Basalto Rules.
For the first time, our venue hosted this vibrant sporting event, reinforcing our commitment to revitalizing the area and establishing Paseo LASAL as a gathering place for people—not only for shopping and dining, but also as an inclusive space for wellness, health, and outdoor socializing.

What is Basalto Rules? A hybrid race that made a difference
Designed and organized to the highest standards by the Telamon Rules team, Basalto Rules was presented as an inclusive, fair, and balanced competition, where both experienced athletes and enthusiastic participants competed side by side and surpassed their goals in a highly dynamic format.
A challenging and demanding challenge
During tests lasting between 35 and 50 minutes, participants completed a high-performance circuit that combined:
1. Aerobic exercise and endurance:
Running intervals and specific training on ergometers (rowing and Skierg).
2. Functional and strength training:
Highly technically demanding exercises such as wall ball throws, kettlebell lunges, burpees, sled pushes, and dumbbell lifts.
Thanks to its tailored categories (such as the Open division), the event promoted the shared values of sports, allowing people with different fitness levels to test themselves, push their limits, and enjoy the sense of belonging and camaraderie within the fitness community.
LASAL Promenade: A Premier Destination for Well-Being
Hosting a sporting event of this technical and logistical scale reflects Paseo LASAL’s operational excellence and versatility. Beyond being home to the best brands in dining, entertainment, and retail, our architectural design and integration into the surrounding landscape provided the ideal setting for several reasons:
1. A balcony overlooking the Atlantic, rich in oxygen
The prime oceanfront location offered competitors optimal oxygenation and natural temperature regulation thanks to the constant sea breeze.
2. Setting and inspiration:
The panoramic views of Lobos Island and the imposing Corralejo Dunes served as additional motivation for the athletes at every stage of the competition.
3. Open and inclusive architecture:
With a design that pays homage to the local identity and the ancient Berrugo salt flats, our wide avenues and open spaces allowed for the smooth running of the event and a comfortable experience for all attendees.
4. Recovery and shared value:
Once the races concluded, athletes and visitors were able to enjoy our terraces and culinary offerings to recharge their energy in a balanced way, in a welcoming atmosphere surrounded by first-class amenities just steps away from the Barceló Playa Blanca Hotel.

A Positive Outcome for Lanzarote
We would like to thank the organizers, the athletes, and the attendees for making this weekend a great celebration of an active lifestyle by the sea. At Paseo LASAL, we will continue to launch initiatives that add value to the island, promoting sustainable development, sports, and the revitalization of our community.
